As the countdown begins to one of the biggest weekends in the UK motocross calendar, excitement is building for the 2026 NORA Motorsport Team Event which heads to the newly revamped Foxhill Moto Parc on September 5th & 6th. Few people know what it takes to prepare for the prestigious club vs club showdown better than Severn Valley Motocross Club’s Tim Truman.
After guiding Severn Valley Motocross Club to an impressive third place overall finish in the 2025 event, Tim and his team will be looking to build on that success as they head to Foxhill later this year with their sights firmly set on the podium once again.
We caught up with Tim to discuss the team event, how it feels to be involved, how he prepares the riders for the weekend and much more.
How do you feel about competing in the NORA Motorsport Team Event, and what does it mean to your team?
“For me, it’s something I’m really proud to be part of. Severn Valley has always been about giving riders a great place to race, make friends, and enjoy motocross, so being able to bring a team together to represent the club at the NORA Motorsport Team Event means a lot. It’s a chance to show what our club stands for and compete alongside some of the best clubs in the country.”
How do you prepare your riders to perform as a team rather than as individuals like racing at other events?
“I tell the riders that this weekend isn’t about one person—it’s about everyone pulling together. Every point matters, and every rider has a part to play. I want them helping each other, encouraging each other, and enjoying the experience together. If someone has a bad race, the rest of the team is there to lift them back up. That’s what being part of Severn Valley is all about.”
What excites you most about bringing your team to this event?
“The thing I’m looking forward to most is seeing all of our riders standing together under the Severn Valley name. We have a great mix of talent, experience, and young riders coming through, and I can’t wait to see them enjoying the event and giving everything they’ve got. Events like this create memories that last for years.”
How do you select riders for your team for an event like this?
“Obviously ability is important, but it isn’t the only thing I look at. I want riders who represent Severn Valley in the right way—people who work hard, respect others, and want to be part of a team. A good attitude goes a long way, and I’d rather have riders who support each other than riders who only think about themselves.”
What would you like to see from your team by the end of the event?
I’d love us to be competitive, of course, but the biggest thing for me is seeing every rider give 100% and leave knowing they’ve done the club proud. If we come away with smiles on our faces, stronger as a team, and with everyone supporting each other from the first race to the last, then I’ll be happy whatever the final result.”
