This past weekend marked the official launch of the NORA CRS Development Team for 2026, as a new group of talented youth and amateur riders begin their journey within one of the UK’s most progressive motocross development programmes.
Backed by NORA Motorsport and delivered in partnership with Complete Racing Solutions (CRS), the programme continues to raise the standard of grassroots rider development – providing young athletes with structured, professional-level support rarely seen at this stage of the sport.
More Than a Team, it’s a Long-Term Development Pathway
The NORA CRS Development Team supports youth and amateur riders competing in classes such as 85cc, 125cc and 250cc, offering far more than traditional club-level assistance.
At its core, the programme is built around long-term athlete development – not short-term race results.
A key part of that structure is the work carried out by Coach Robb Beams, Director of Human Performance for the NORA Development Program. Robb oversees the nutritional and physical performance side of the team, working closely with each rider to build strong, sustainable habits.
Every rider in the programme wears a Garmin performance watch, allowing Robb to monitor training load, recovery, heart rate data and overall conditioning. Riders also have a weekly one-to-one Zoom call with him, where he goes in depth on health, fitness, fueling, hydration and recovery – ensuring both athletes and parents understand exactly what drives performance progression.
Coach Robb explains:
“Working with the UK NORA Elite Team over the past three years has been incredibly rewarding because the program is built around Roy’s long-term athlete development rather than short-term results. Together, the focus has been on giving riders and their families direct access to education, data, and communication so they can truly understand what drives performance.
That access matters, especially for youth riders. When young athletes learn early how to manage fuelling, hydration, recovery, and training intensity, they build habits that protect them from burnout and injury while accelerating their development curve. It creates smarter, more durable racers.
Looking toward 2026, the excitement is high. The athletes are more informed, more accountable, and better supported than ever before. The trajectory of the NORA Elite Team is extremely strong, and the next phase of growth is going to be fun to watch.”

This level of structured oversight and communication gives riders an advantage rarely available at grassroots level. It ensures development is measured, informed and sustainable.
On-Track Excellence
Alongside its performance programme, the team also benefits from elite on-track coaching led by Joe Clayton.
Now entering his second year with the team, Joe brings technical race craft, structure and motivation to every training session.
Joe shared his thoughts at the 2026 launch weekend:
“I’m very excited to be working with the NORA CRS development team for a second year now. I’m super proud to be selected as their on track riding coach and can’t wait to get to work with the riders. We have a great new bunch of riders who have all had an intense weekend training with me at the team launch and left feeling motivated for the 2026 season. The team as a whole is a great project for NORA as a governing body – putting back into the sport is something I’m really proud to support!”

The launch weekend set the tone for the season ahead, with riders completing intensive on-bike sessions designed to refine technique, improve race awareness and build confidence heading into 2026 competition.
