MX Master Kids 2026 marked a successful return to Mildenhall, with nearly 300 riders taking to the track for a weekend packed with youth motocross action.
The event wasn’t without its challenges. High temperatures and difficult track conditions created extra work for organisers throughout the weekend, while a handful of technical issues with timing loops and gates added further pressure behind the scenes. However, thanks to the efforts of the organising team, officials, marshals and volunteers, the event delivered exactly what riders and families had come for… great racing and a fantastic atmosphere!
For Russ Watts and his team, the successful return of the event was particularly rewarding.
Russ told us: “Master Kids went well. Of course it was hard with the weather and the conditions for both my team and all the riders, but we made sure to get through it. We had good racing, nearly 300 riders and it’s great to see the event running again after the last couple of years. I’m really pleased with how the weekend went.”
With temperatures soaring throughout the weekend, rider welfare remained the priority. One race block was removed from Sunday’s schedule, reducing the programme from six blocks to five.
He continued… “Health and safety is always more important. The heat was intense, and while the track became very dry, we did everything we could to keep water down and maintain the circuit as best as possible.”
The event saw some fantastic racing across all classes, with riders and families embracing the spirit that has always made MX Master Kids such a special occasion on the calendar.

Russ was also keen to recognise the people who helped make the event happen…
“My team and helpers all did a fantastic job. Roy and Andy from NORA Motorsport were there helping pull everything together as one team, and the marshals deserve extra special recognition. They were out there all weekend, not just in the heat, but helping keep the event safe for everyone involved.”
Perhaps most importantly, Russ wanted to thank the riders and families who supported the event.
“There is always a little bit of doubt before an event of this size, but the feedback we’ve received has been fabulous. I’d like to say a huge thank you to every rider and family who supported us this year. We simply can’t run events like this without them, and their support is very much appreciated.”

With another successful event now complete, attention is already turning towards the future.
“We’ve already started thinking about 2027 and looking at venue options. It’s great to get Master Kids back where it should be, and we’re excited about what’s next.”
After a weekend of great racing, hard work and positive feedback, MX Master Kids has once again proven why it remains one of the highlights of the youth motocross calendar!
For now, it’s time to plan for 2027!
