With MUDBILLYS Summer Sends returning for its 5th anniversary in 2026, we spoke to Josh about where it all began – and what makes this milestone year so special for not just the team as organisers, but competitors and spectators too!
The idea for Summer Sends came from Josh’s own grassroots motorsport roots. He wanted to recreate the strong spectator atmosphere he remembered growing up… but with a twist. By bringing multiple off-road disciplines together on the same track and across the same weekend, MUDBILLYS created something that’s just as exciting to watch as it is to race. It’s become an anticipated event on the annual calendar.
As the event continues to grow, 2026 isn’t about reinventing the wheel, it’s about refining it. With a fuller paddock and increased spectator demand, the team has added more staff and made smart operational improvements behind the scenes to make the experience even smoother for both competitors and fans.
For Josh, though, the highlight is simple: it’s the people!
“The BILLYS” – the loyal community behind MUDBILLYS – are what make the event what it is. The atmosphere? “Wild. Unconventional. Celebration”. These were Josh’s chosen words when we asked him to describe the event in just 3 words.
And if Summer Sends had a warning label? – of course we had to ask.
“Warning: You may leave with a dodgy haircut, a MUDBILLYS tattoo, and an uncontrollable urge to race next year.”
From the moment the gates open, it’s back-to-back racing all weekend. And, with 2026 marking five years of MUDBILLYS and five years affiliated with NORA, it’s set to be a huge celebration of how far the event has come.
Five years on. Still growing. Still pushing boundaries. And still proudly part of the NORA family.
