Mecca-x’s Dave Willet on NORA Motorsport Team Event

Joining us for the first time at the NORA Motorsport Team Event is Mecca-x, led by Dave Willet, who is looking to show what the club can do at this years event on September 5th & 6th at Foxhill Moto Park. We caught up with Dave Willet to discuss his thoughts on the event and more.

Here is what Dave had to say.

How do you feel about competing in the NORA Motorsport Team Event, and what does it mean to your team?

“We’re really excited to be part of the NORA Motorsport Team Event. It’s a great opportunity to compete against some of the best teams on one of the best tracks with so much nostalgia in the country while representing everything we’ve worked hard to build. For us, it’s about more than results—it’s about showcasing our riders, our team culture, and the passion we all share for racing and our CLUB – while keeping it FUN”

How do you prepare your riders to perform as a team rather than as individuals like racing at other events?

“We’ll focus a lot on communication, trust and FUN. Everyone needs understands that every rider’s performance contributes to the overall team result. We’ll encourage our riders to support one another, share information about the track, and stay positive throughout the event. When everyone is working toward the same goal, the team becomes stronger than any individual performance.”

What excites you most about bringing your team to this event?

“The team atmosphere is what I’m looking forward to the most. It’s great seeing our riders work together, push each other, and enjoy the experience. Events like this create memories and help strengthen the team both on and off the track.” We also want the other members who didn’t make it through to try hard next year to make the team”

How do you select riders for your team for an event like this?

“We look at more than just speed. Consistency, attitude, work ethic, and the ability to work well with teammates are just as important. We want riders who represent the team ( CLUB ) professionally and are willing to give everything for the group.”

What would you like to see from your team by the end of the event?

“I’d like to see everyone give their best effort, stay safe, and support each other from start to finish. If we leave knowing we performed to our potential and represented our team with pride and sportsmanship, then it’s been a successful FUN weekend.”

Are there any special mentions or thanks to sponsors of your team you wish to share?

“Absolutely. We’d like to thank all of our sponsors, supporters, families, and everyone who helps make this possible. Motorsport is a team effort, and we couldn’t do it without their continued support. We’re proud to represent them not just at the event but through out the year with our merchandise and hope to make them proud for their support”
