We spoke with Club Chairman of Southerly MXC & Owner of Thirty3mx Events about his upcoming partnership with NORA Motorsport for the 2026 return of Master Kids MX to Mildenhall. Here’s what he had to say…
The return to Mildenhall
The return of Master Kids to its original home at Mildenhall is something I’ve been thinking about a lot – and honestly, it means a huge amount to me.
Master Kids has always been a special event. What makes it unique is its focus on youth riders. From the very beginning, it’s been about giving young riders something that feels big, exciting and professional – but also welcoming and supportive.

Bringing Back the Atmosphere
Over the years, Master Kids built an atmosphere that really stood out. Families together in the paddock, riders supporting each other, friendships forming trackside – that community feel is what makes this event different.
My team and I are going to work hard to bring that atmosphere back to Mildenhall. We want riders and their families to come, enjoy the weekend and leave with great memories. That’s what this event has always been about.
Racing That Delivers
The racing has always been exciting, especially the qualifying format with the A and B groups. That structure creates real competition and gives riders something to push for.
We’re hoping to keep that traditional format because it’s part of the DNA of Master Kids – and it’s something riders genuinely enjoy.

Equal for Every Rider
One thing that’s always been important to me is that Master Kids is equal for everyone. Whether a rider has been on a bike for two weeks or five years, every competitor is treated the same.
Every rider matters.
This event is about giving young riders an opportunity – no matter their experience level – to feel part of something special.
Looking Ahead
Bringing Master Kids back to Mildenhall isn’t just about revisiting the past. It’s about rebuilding something meaningful for the next generation of riders.
I’m really looking forward to working hard with the team to make it a weekend that delivers on atmosphere, competition and opportunity – and to seeing the paddock full of young riders ready to make their mark.
Master Kids is coming home – and we’re ready to make it special again.

Closing statement from Russ:
Motocross has been part of my life from a young age. I raced myself when I was younger, so I know firsthand what it feels like to be out there on track. That experience has always stayed with me.
As life moved on, my involvement in the sport only grew. When my son started racing at a local club, I began helping out – eventually becoming chairman and running the club for around ten years. In total, I’ve been organising and running motocross events and clubs for over 20 years now, including involvement in some major events along the way.
I don’t claim to get everything right – nobody does – but I always do my best to get it right for the riders. Having raced myself gives me an understanding of what they need and what matters to them. My goal is simple: work hard, run the best events possible, and make sure as many people as possible go home happy.
