Andy Watts talks NORA Motorsport Team Event – Part 2 of 2

We are back with part two of our interview with NORA Motorsport Motocross Manager, Andy Watts on the NORA Motorsport Team Event.

Scroll down for part two.

This year’s event heads to Foxhill Moto Parc, one of the most iconic motocross venues in the UK. How excited are you to be taking the Team Event there?

“Foxhill, my favourite circuit to have been lucky enough to ride, so yes really excited to bring the team event here.”

Foxhill has undergone a significant redevelopment ahead of hosting MXGP. What were your first impressions when you saw the changes?

“Luckily enough I visited Foxhill just as the track work was almost completed, it’s definitely got the Wow factor back, all credit to Paul up there and the team, the investment into the venue is nothing short of staggering.”

How do you think riders and clubs will benefit from competing at a venue that has received this level of investment?

“To be able to ride on the same circuit not too long after the world GP stars, has to be something you would be looking forward to doing.”

Does hosting the Team Event at Foxhill help elevate the profile of the event itself?

“Yes, I think so, to be able to have all our clubs together at one of Britain’s most iconic venues is really exciting for all involved this year.”

What can riders, clubs and spectators expect from this year’s Team Event that may be different from previous editions?

“Obviously, the venue, but this year we hope to be making the hub/village bigger with entertainment, trade stalls, and music, rider interviews etc…we also have a team over from Ireland which will be a first, hopefully a real family feel to the whole event.”

How important is it for NORA Motorsport to continue investing in events that bring clubs together from across the country?

“Yes, massively important to try to keep growing and support organisers in Britain, especially at grass roots level after all, they are all the future of a sport we love to be a part of.”

Where would you like to see the MX Team Event in the next five years?

“I may be retired in another five years…. joking aside, I’d like to see a similar format with maybe a festival feel to the event.”

Finally, if you had one message for clubs and riders considering entering this year’s event, what would it be?

“Come along, relax, chill, enjoy the event with your friends and families, have fun and leave with big smiles.”
