Little Silver was the venue for round 5 of South West MXC’s Club Championship last weekend and a packed entry turned out to strut their stuff on the prime Devon soil.
A fantastic entry of Auto’s saw Jamie Currie go through the card with three wins. Finley Rundle was second and Mason Staddon was third.
The 65’s were rammed with 42 racers on the line and coming out on top was Archie Edwards who maxed out with three moto victories from three. Charlie Mitchell, Jack Davey and Nixon Coppins were all tied on 117 points but based on the last moto result they finished in the order listed.
Consistency won out in the Small Wheel 85’s with Max Beaumont racking up three second places to take the overall ahead of double moto winner Harry Woodland and George Clark. The other racer to take the chequers was Lewis Jenks who was fourth overall.
Joey Benfield, Isaac Ash, and Archie Hobbs would finish first, second and third in that order in each of the three moto’s and in the overall of the Big Wheel 85’s.
In the Rookies, Tristan Daniels went 1-1-2 to take the victory with moto three victor Ben Zeale second and Jack Dando third, while in the Inters Dave Abraham grabbed the win over Mike Goddard and Tom Sharpe. Ashley Smith won the first two motos but didn’t score in moto three so finished down the order in eighth.
Micheal Hayes was triumphant in the Novice going unbeaten, Jack Heath was second and Tom Salt was third.
In MX1 Luke Sturgeon got the better of Harry Day and Scott Arden and in MX2 Harvey James nabbed the top spot of the podium fending off George Pool and Kona Jenkins.
Last but not least, in the Vets, Darren Pearce got better as the day went on and snatched the win with Bryan Tucker second and Richard Penhaligon third.
