Profile of Nora Champion – Hugh Darley

The next profile of a Nora Champion is with Youth Junior British Minibike Champion, 11 year old Hugh Darley…

Where are you from? I live in Werrington in Staffordshire

What type of sport do you race in? Youth Junior, Minibike champ, Dirt Bike racing.

What bike do you ride? Honda CRF 125

What championship did you win? British minibike championship Youth Junior 2021

What was the toughest race in the championship? I found the toughest race weekend was at Winchester PCE as there were some really deep ruts and it was a hard race.

Who was your biggest rival? My mate Tyler Griffiths – he was tough to beat

What was your best race on the way to the title? It’s so hard to say, I really enjoyed them all but if I had to choose one I would say it would be during the last round of races where I had to make up 17 points. I gave it my all and just went for it. My brother had a nasty fall which I saw and he ended up in surgery but I just had to keep going.

How does it feel to be the British Minibike champ? It is amazing!! I still can’t believe it. This is my first time competing in the minibike champs and I can’t believe I’m the champion.

What are your goals for 2022? To keep riding and keep racing and hopefully there will be a sponsor out there that might help out.

Who would you like to thank for your help? I would like to thank my mum, dad, brother and sister for all their support throughout the season and my chief mechanic – my uncle Matthew. And a big thank you to British minibike champs for Nora motorsport for making this happen.
