The latest racer to feature in our Profile of a Nora Champion is the 2021 Nora British Speedway Champion Jason Edwards…

Age: 19

Where are you from? I’m from Billericay, Essex.

What type of sport do you race in? Speedway.

What bike do you ride? Speedway bikes are 500cc single cylinder engines, fixed gear and no brakes.

What Championship did you win? I won the Nora 500cc British Shale track racing championship over on the Isle of Wight.

What was your toughest race in the championship? The toughest, but also most fun race was the final. Myself, Connor Coles, Ed Kennett and Henry Atkins, were all swapping places, hitting the fence and just out of control really.

Who was your biggest rival? Ed Kennet was definitely the biggest rival due to how good he is.

What was your best race on the way to the title? Definitely, the final, Connor should have won it but he made a mistake on the last bend allowing me to win.

How does it feel to be British Champion? The whole night was just amazing.

What are your goals for 2022? My goals for next season are just to improve as much as I possibly can, ride as much and generally just enjoy my racing.
