Wightlink Warriors co-owners Barry Bishop and Martin Widman have confirmed this morning that the third and final round of the Island Masters speedway series will take place at the Smallbrook Stadium on Tuesday 28th September.
Reacting to last Tuesday’s rain off Bishop said “It was so disappointing to have to call off the meeting this week. It promised to be a cracking end to our season, but sadly the wet overnight and early morning weather got the better of things. There was no chance of us allowing the season to just peter out and we have been working hard over the past 48 hours to make all the necessary arrangements to climax our Summer Spectaculars in the best possible way so Tuesday 28th September is the new date for Island Masters Round 3.
We have also been looking at celebrating the terrific season that we have enjoyed in 2021 and I’m delighted to announce that we will be hosting another of our legendary end-of-season parties on 30th October in the Premier Lounge. With a 7.30 pm start time, we will offer a buffet, presentation and awards interlude and a hand clapping, foot stomping disco as we see out our 2021 events in style. Tickets priced at £5 for 17’s and over (under 16’s free) should be available at the final meeting, although we will provide more details on how to buy shortly.”
