Jack Frost had nothing on the Revvi Racers on Saturday as they took to the SX Worx circuit in Sheffield for the first Revvi Cup event of 2023, and although it was chilly they weren’t to be deterred and put on a fantastic show for the large crowd of family and friends that gathered to cheer them on.

The 12″ Open 3 years of age class was the most competitive it has ever been with three heats of riders battling it out to make it through to the coveted A Final.

Flying around the circuit with great skill, and winning the Revvi Cup in this class was George Breeze, who had to beat another super fast racer Harvey Nicol who was second while Reggie Woods also rode superb for third.

Maddox Buckley rode well for fourth in the A final, with Rhys Bennison in fifth, Luca Hayes and sixth and George Joyce seventh.

In the B Final Tommy White took the chequers and raced to victory ahead of Jacy Llewllyn, Denny Tyson, Arlo Fellows, Ethan Rudd, George Fenwick, Xavier Laniyan, Blake Read, Oscar Twomey, Jacob Fletcher, Eli Roberts.

George Foames rode a stormer in the 12″ Open 4-5 years of age A final and fought off George Bryan who had a great day with second and Nicky Layt in third, who deserved his place on the podium. Remi-Boe Wright clinched fourth, Ezra Astin, sixth, Eddie Nottingham seventh, Jenson Martin eighth, Theo Ross ninth.

Over in the B Final Noah Mitchell raced to the top spot in front of Oscar Wild, Theo Vaughan, Jackson Fontaine and Esme Fisher.

There was a great battle in the 16″ Standard 3-4 A final which saw Max James-Good getting the better of Louie Smith and Tommy Craig after an epic battle. Great racing guys. Frank Southcott had a great ride for fourth, Freddie Baxter was fifth, Jenson Mason sixth, Grayson Wright seventh, number 23 in eighth and Ethan Rudd in ninth.

The B Final was won by Harrison Thistlewaite ahead of Jesse Thompson and River Mathias.

George Nottingham powered to a tremendous win in the 16″ Open 3-4 year old class keeping second placed Marley Butler and third placed Raife Western at bay. Wheeler Simmons held off the hard charging Reggie Wheatcroft off for fourth after Reggie fell off on lap two. Nicky Layt was sixth, Teddy Tarr seventh, Denny Simmons eighth, and George Breeze was ninth.

Jonah Barks took the B Final win ahead of Theo Malkin.

In the 16″ Standard 5-6 year old Birthday boy Max Stevens made it a birthday to remember by winning the A final in fine style, keeping the dual Smith brothers Eli and Foxy behind him who would finish in that order. Closing in on the leaders with tremendous pace was George Foames who came off on the first lap and fought back with fantastically to finish fourth. Thomas Harrison would end the race in fifth, Eduardo Lukosiunas was sixth, Ollie Vincent seventh, Henry Hutchings was eighth and Mabel Breeze was ninth.

The B Final saw Daisy Cartwright triumph over Noah Louram, Dexter Arnold, Marley Montgomery, Harry Plaice and Heidi Robertson.

The 16′ Open 5-6 year old class is always one of the most competitive and this event was no exception. There was some epic action in the heats with Kolbe Red Sole going unbeaten but he would go down early in the final. Out in front though Austin Roberts was flying and fought off the advances of Marco Reynolds who had a superb day finishing second behind Roberts who took a well deserved victory. Kolbe would battle through the pack for a hard earned third and a place on the podium. Jensen Hawksworth capped off a good day with fourth, Rico Blinkhorn was fifth,Maggie May Layt was sixth, Daniel Beardell seventh, Hadley Dillon eighth and Ronnie Seddon was ninth.

In the B Final Poppy Reeves rode a great race to win ahead of Abbie Naylor, Vivienne Western, Logan Taylor, Jenson Brown, Leo Abbott, Archie Johnson, Shelby Read and Terry Baxter.

The 16″ Open 7-8 year old category was fought out over four point scoring heat races. Carter Spinks came good in the opening race ahead of his friend Henry-James Tempest. Henry-James hit back with the next two victories setting up a final race showdown for the Revvi Cup. The duo battled it out all race long but at the chequered flag it was Carter in front which earned him the title and the cup over Henry James with Lottle Calverley in third, Gene Jenkins in fourth and Henry Spencer in fifth.

Everyone at EXGB and Revvi would like to day well done to all of the little Revvi heroes who took part and rode so well and would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out to race with us, and their families for once again creating a tremendous and supportive atmosphere for the little riders.
