Raiders Off Road Club was started in the ’90s by a group of 4×4 enthusiasts who wanted a friendly club that would appeal to all offroaders. Once you’ve tried it you’ll be hooked. The club is run by a dedicated group of people, organising events all year round. RTV, Open and Modified trials take place normally on the last Sunday of the month. Winch Challenges and Punch Hunts are always well attended. Club stands at shows and camping weekends are also popular.
Offroading is made up of several types of events.
Trials are courses set out an offroad site, a bit like a slalom downhill skiing course, 10 sets of canes are set out along the course at different intervals to test your vehicle over a variety of terrain. The canes are set out in pairs (gates), red flag to the left and white flag to the right. Each gate is numbered from 10 down to 1 and points are scored for each gate successfully negotiated, the winner being the driver with the least amount of points. There are 3 classes in this event RTV (road taxed vehicles), Open (not road legal, slight modifications) and Modified (significantly modified vehicles).
Raiders Off Road Club is not a one make club, we are a club that welcomes all 4x4s, be they standard specification or modified. We are a friendly club with the aim of enjoying our motors and having fun at weekends.
