2022 Pendine Beach Race – Report & Results

Pendine sands came alive to the roar of engines on Sunday morning with the annual ( DLMX ) Dredgers Laugharne Motocross Club’s beach race.

With over 160 entries, the racing commenced at 08.25 sharp with practice for the small kids on auto bikes before moving onto the 65cc and 85cc big wheel bikes for the older kids, which all did three blocks of racing before the adult races began later in the morning.

Whilst the youngsters enjoyed the sunshine and blue skies, the first of the adult races began under dark clouds and then came the hail and thunder, but within half an hour, the sun was making a welcome return to Pendine. A great day’s racing was had with trophies and cash for the taking for the prize winners who travelled from as far as the welsh borders to support the small team of organisers who bought some extra revenue into the area for businesses at a quiet time of the year.

Ash Greedy showed his sand prowess by going 1-1 in the Adult A class while, Jack Hawkins and Christopher both went 1-1 in the Adult B and C classes, respectively, to take their class wins. In the Vets, Robert Lewis maxed out for the victory.

The number spot in the Auto Novice went the way of Harri Thomas with Austin Edwards grabbing the glory in the main Auto class. Tyler Peaty was the top dog in the Junior 65’s. In the Small Wheel 85’s it was William Evans with the overall.

Over in the Big Wheel 85’s Leah Evans pulled the victory out the bag, and in the Youth 125/250 category Jobi Caddick stole the honours.
