The Mildenhall Motoparc is the destination for this weekend’s British Minibike Championship rounds 7 & 8, which are the final rounds for the series, so it’s all to race for.
600 points are up for grabs in the Pro Class, so although Team Zontal Racing’s Kieran Sembiante has a commanding 70-point lead over the reigning champ Blaine Blackwell he can’t rest on his laurels and will need to pitch in with some solid motos to claim the title as you know Blackwell won’t back down until the end. You can’t also count out another Zontal racing rider Jody Burton who is only 3o points shy of Blackwell’s total, with another host of riders who could put themselves on the box like Leo Vowles, Danny Kidd, Chris Hughes, Dan Foreman and Daniel Fisher.
The fight is well and truly on for Rookie glory, with series leader Leo Vowles just 6 points clear of Daniel Fisher, so this is one title that could o down to the last race for sure.
Tony Herd holds the cards in the Vets category, having racked up a 63-point lead over Jay Taylor, while over in the Masters class, Chris Hughes will be looking to get it over the line, having won 5 of the six previous rounds, but Jody Burton will battle to the end.
In the Farmbikes, Lewis Rose missed the last two rounds but still leads the championship, and if he rocks up in the same determined mood as previous, the title could be heading his way but watch out for the likes of Freddie Hales, Sam Thomson, Jake Rose and George Pym who will all have their eyes on the prize.
Ash Gorman pretty much has the 110cc Stock class sewn up, with any points scored in the first moto securing him the title. The Mod class has been poorly represented this year, meaning Jake Speller has already been crowned the champ.
In the Youth Senior, Harrison Haslam has won the last five rounds and, by doing so, has notched up an 85-point lead over round one victor Jacob Darley who will be keen to fend off his rivals Jayden Bickerton and Thomas Hunt for the runners-up spot.
Tyler Griffiths has 99 points up his sleeve in the Youth Junior’s with the real fight between Olly Haynes and Hugh Darley for second, with the duo separated by just 2 points.
The Kids 65cc class sees Zach White in pole position, 54 points up on Jacob Hackett. Hackett will have his eyes on the runner-up position, but so also does Jenson Batner who is only 4 points further back.
Lily Senior has fire in with solid moto’s all series long and by doing so holds a 72-point lead at the top of the Kids 50cc table. Oscar Smith should have a big enough gap to secure second, and Erik Lennox will need a good day to hold onto third.
